BERLIN, OCTOBER 10 /SRNA/ – Alice Weidel, co-chair of the opposition party Alternative for Germany /AfD/, criticized German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s sanctions policy, referring to an agreement between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on the supply of Russian diesel fuel.

"That’s how thigs should be done! While Merz is destroying Germany with sanctions and expensive liquefied natural gas, Trump is engaging in realpolitik," Weidel posted on X.

She stressed that pragmatic cooperation serves Germany’s national interests, while the current German authorities are fueling escalation at the expense of their own citizens.

Putin spoke by phone with Trump yesterday.

Trump said that an agreement had been reached during the conversation on the supply of diesel fuel from Russia.

"The USA is happy to receive Russian diesel fuel, which it needs," Trump emphasized.
