BERLIN, OCTOBER 19 /SRNA/ – Mass protests in France serve as a warning to Germany and raise the risk of unrest resembling a civil war, Alice Weidel, one of the leaders of the Alternative for Germany /AfD/ party, has warned.

"Brutal acts of violence in France serve as a warning sign for Germany. The dangerous combination of mass migration and left-wing extremism poses a risk of creating conditions here that resemble a civil war," Weidel wrote on X.

Protests over rising prices and the cost of living were held across France on Saturday, October 17, accompanied by violent clashes between demonstrators and police, street violence, looting and vandalism.

According to official figures, more than 2,000 people were detained during Saturday's protests.
