ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, MAY 20 /SRNA/ – Serb BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović says she received with great sadness the news of the death of Dobrila Kukolj, a former prisoner of the Jasenovac concentration camp, who devoted her life to spreading the truth about the suffering of the Serb people, as well as other peoples in Jasenovac and throughout the Independent State of Croatia /NDH/.
"Her testimonies about the horrors endured by Jasenovac inmates remain a valuable contribution to the culture of remembrance and dignified memorialization of the greatest historical wound of the Serb people," Cvijanović posted on X.
Cvijanović extended her final farewell to Dobrila Kukolj, who was also the long-time head of the Banja Luka Association of World War II camp survivors.
According to her, Kukolj’s passing represents a great and irreparable loss not only for her family, friends, and associates, but for entire Republika Srpska.
"May her noble soul rest in eternal peace, sincere condolences to the family," Cvijanović added.
