MOSCOW, SEPTEMBER 8 /SRNA/ - Moscow's Tagansky District Court fined the social network TikTok and the photo-sharing service Pinterest 3.5 million rubles /40,420 dollars/ each for distributing prohibited content, a TASS correspondent reported from the courtroom.
"TikTok was found guilty of failing to fulfill its obligation to monitor content in order to restrict access to information about drug production, methods of committing suicide, or materials containing pornographic depictions of minors, and was fined 3.5 million rubles," the judge said while reading the verdict.
According to the court ruling in the other case, Pinterest was fined the same amount for distributing information about the activities of the LGBT movement, which is banned in Russia.
