NATIONAL MEMORIAL SERVICE HELD IN HONOUR OF SHIMON PERES, DODIK IN ATTENDANCE

JERUSALEM, SEPTEMBER 8 /SRNA/ – A national memorial service in honour of former Israeli President and Prime Minister Shimon Peres began in Jerusalem today, attended by President Milorad Dodik as an honorary guest, SRNA’s correspondent reports.

The memorial service is being held at the Great Leaders of the Nation's Plot, where one of Israel's most prominent statesmen is buried.

Numerous dignitaries are attending the commemoration.

The Republika Srpska delegation, headed by Dodik, also includes Acting Director of the Republika Srpska International Cooperation Office Ana Trišić-Babić.

Shimon Peres died on September 28, 2016, at the age of 93.

During his decades-long political career, Peres held Israel’s highest state offices, including the positions of president and prime minister.

He was a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, which he shared in 1994 with Yitzhak Rabin and Yasser Arafat.
