BEĆIROVIĆ AND KOMŠIĆ - AUTHORS OF BUDGET CHAOS

SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 11 /SRNA/ – The Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers Srđan Amidžić stated that the conclusions adopted at yesterday's extraordinary session of the BiH Presidency by members Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić are yet another attempt to shift responsibility for their own mistakes onto those who are working lawfully and responsibly.

"At yesterday's session, Bećirović and Komšić, ignoring constitutional procedures, adopted conclusions demanding from the Council of Ministers to submit a corrected draft budget for 2025 within five days," Amidžić said.

He reminded that it was precisely Bećirović and Komšić who imposed an unlawful, technically unenforceable, and politically forced budget, which the House of Representatives rightfully rejected on September 1.

"This is the very same unconstitutional budget adopted when Bećirović and Komšić outvoted the Serb member of the Presidency Željka Cvijanović who in both instances voted against – both when this unconstitutional budget was passed, and yesterday when she opposed these comical conclusions," Amidžić pointed out in a written statement.

Instead of taking responsibility, Amidžić continued, Bećirović and Komšić are now trying to force the Council of Ministers to correct their economic and political blunder in record time.

"Such behavior is unserious, legally unfounded, and utterly irresponsible. While institutions are doing their work – they are writing conclusions. While citizens are waiting for a budget – they are producing blockades and chaos," Amidžić stated.

He emphasized that the Ministry of Finance and Treasury will not be a tool for carrying out political improvisations and unconstitutional orders.

"The budget is not adopted on the basis of pressure, but in accordance with the law and applicable procedures. The ministry I lead will not participate in unlawful and unconstitutional actions," Amidžić declared firmly.

He told Bećirović and Komšić that if they wanted a stable and functional Dayton BiH, they should prove it by respecting the law.

"If their goal is political chaos and the undermining of institutions – then let them say it openly, so we all know they are not only destroying the budget, but also Dayton BiH, which they obviously despise," Amidžić stressed.

He added that it is enough of pretending to be statesmen while persistently pursuing an agenda of destruction.

"What Bećirović and Komšić are doing is not a fight for Dayton BiH – but against it. And as long as I serve as Minister of Finance and Treasury, I will resolutely oppose such politics," Amidžić said.
