BESSENT: MORE THAN 60 OF TEHRAN’S ASSOCIATES TARGETED BY SANCTIONS

WASHINGTON, AUGUST 24 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ - The US Treasury Department is imposing new sanctions on more than 60 legal entities, individuals and vessels linked to Iran, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced.

“The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control is imposing sanctions on more than 60 businesses, individuals and vessels around the world that enable the Iranian regime to procure illicit nuclear and missile technology, conduct cyber operations and generate oil revenues,” Bessent said.

At a press conference, he stressed that the US would not wait indefinitely for other countries to make decisions before deciding whether to impose sanctions on entities linked to Tehran.
