SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 13 /SRNA/ – Nikola Špirić, a member of the Advisory Board of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, said that the European path cannot mean a transfer of competencies or the unitarisation of BiH as envisioned by the Bosniaks, because this approach has resulted in blockages and achieved no results.
Špirić said that discussions should be held on the laws concerning the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council and the Court of BiH, adding that a new approach to the judicial system was clearly needed.
“No one is saying that it should be abolished, but there is no doubt that an entirely new approach is needed. This must be discussed. The Growth Plan must be sufficiently clear for us to understand who controls the spending of the funds, under what conditions and in what manner, so that the plan can be implemented and stimulate growth in BiH. There are many unanswered questions,” Špirić pointed out.
Speaking about the chief negotiator for BiH with the EU, Špirić said that the position had not yet been filled because of the political immaturity of Sarajevo.
“I believe that the Council of Ministers should appoint the chief negotiator, and it is entirely logical that the negotiator should come from the Serb people,” Špirić told Euronews.
Commenting on the lawsuits announced by Zlatko Miletić, a deputy in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Špirić said that he had never been summoned by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, but had received notification that there were no grounds for bringing an indictment.
“That was Mr Miletić’s election campaign platform,” Špirić concluded.
