CVIJANOVIĆ OPENED ALL DOORS AT KEY PLACES IN AMERICA

SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 24 /SRNA/ - Nikola Špirić, Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, said that the latest visit by Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović to the United States showed that Republika Srpska has credibility in the country and that perceptions of Serbs are changing.

Špirić said that Cvijanović had opened all doors at key places in the United States.

“She made it possible for the voice of Republika Srpska and its representatives, who had been portrayed as the bad guys, to be heard, and they are now credible interlocutors. This visit confirms that President Milorad Dodik has devised the best approach to what amounts to a diplomatic offensive by Republika Srpska,” Špirić told SRNA.

According to him, being present at official meetings, as well as informal gatherings, is of exceptional importance.

“The worst thing is an empty seat, because when you do not show up, you leave room for your opponents to slander you and undermine you. It has been shown that Cvijanović’s presence in both New York and Washington further strengthened Republika Srpska’s position and opened the door to a much stronger position in terms of foreign policy, as well as to countering the lies about Republika Srpska being spread from BiH,” Špirić said.

Commenting on the so-called monograph BiH Diplomacy 1992–2022, Špirić said that it is the best picture of BiH that Bosniaks would like to see.

“They produce books and films and pursue policies without the Serbs and Croats, working secretly and behind their backs while promoting their own version of history. The desire for a unitary BiH in which only one people has a say and is promoted will first and foremost destroy this country. Such a monograph, or any other one-sided work based on untruths, will also bear witness to this,” Špirić concluded.
