ROME, OCTOBER 30 /SRNA/ – Police used a water cannon to disperse demonstrators gathered along the river embankment in Rome's Testaccio district, RIA Novosti's correspondent reports.
After the conclusion of peaceful demonstrations organised by trade unions and students, a group of demonstrators gathered in the Trastevere area, near the banks of the River Tiber, and attempted to make their way towards the city centre.
Police stopped the demonstrators on a bridge, using force. The demonstrators then tried to reach the city centre via another route, but were met by police using a water cannon.
