MAN ARRESTED OVER THREATS OF BOMB ATTACKS AGAINST WHITE HOUSE

TUCSON, OCTOBER 9 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - A man who sent emails threatening bomb attacks against the White House and other locations in Washington has been arrested in Arizona, the relevant prosecutor’s office announced.

Jacob Aaron Hicks, 46, of Tucson, has been arrested and charged with making threats to cause bodily injury.

"Hicks is accused of sending an email on September 23 threatening to carry out bomb attacks against the White House and other locations in the Washington area," the Arizona District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

According to the criminal complaint, the man sent the threatening messages by email to a television station in Tucson, which then notified the relevant authorities.

Additional similar messages addressed to various news agencies were also discovered during the investigation, the statement said, adding that the FBI is leading the investigation with assistance from the US Secret Service.
