AT LEAST 28 DEAD AFTER BUS AND TRUCK COLLIDE

DODOMA, OCTOBER 9 /SRNA-RIA Novosti/ - At least 28 people were killed when a bus and a timber truck collided head-on in eastern Tanzania, the Citizen newspaper reported.

"The bus caught fire after the collision and was completely destroyed," the head of the regional fire and rescue service said.

He added that the number of dead and injured was still being determined.

The accident happened this morning on the Dar es Salaam-Mbeya bus route.
