MOSCOW, October 9 /SRNA/ - Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Uralvagonzavod, one of Russia’s largest tank manufacturers, on its 90th anniversary, highlighting the company’s role in supplying the armed forces with modern military equipment.
"You fulfil state orders clearly and on time, producing modern military and specialized equipment that helps our soldiers honorably carry out the tasks entrusted to them during the special military operation," Putin said in a congratulatory message published by the Kremlin.
He highlighted the factory’s historic role during the Second World War, when it produced nearly 26,000 T-34 tanks that turned the tide of the war in favor of the Soviet Union.
Putin thanked the company’s employees and veterans for their service to the motherland, stressing that today’s workers were continuing the tradition established by previous generations.
Since its founding in 1936, Uralvagonzavod has produced more than 100,000 combat vehicles and 1.25 million railway cars.
According to the company, more than 300 variants of combat vehicles have been manufactured at the plant throughout its history.
The company also highlighted its vast research and development capabilities, where constant work is underway to improve next-generation armored vehicles.
