GOVERNMENT PARTIALLY LIFTS BAN ON DIESEL EXPORTS

MOSCOW, OCTOBER 10 /SRNA/ – The Russian government announced that it had partially lifted the ban on diesel exports with immediate effect, following an agreement between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump on supplying the US and global markets from Russia.

"Production volumes are sufficient to fully meet local demand and export the specified quantities to the global market," Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said.

The statement reads that the partial lifting of Russia’s export ban would allow 500,000 tonnes of diesel fuel to be supplied to the global market in the first phase.

"In accordance with the decision adopted, Russian oil companies, in coordination with the government, will immediately begin negotiating diesel fuel supply contracts with foreign partners," the statement added.

The ban had been in effect for producers until October 31 and for non-producers until January 31, 2027, RIA Novosti reported.
