MOSCOW, NOVEMBER 7 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ - The deployment of foreign troops in Ukraine is unacceptable to Russia, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

"We reiterate once again that the deployment of foreign armed contingents in Ukraine is categorically unacceptable, whether through the so-called Coalition of the Willing or under the auspices of any other associations," Zakharova stressed.

She stressed that such a deployment would de facto constitute military intervention and a deliberate attempt to create additional security threats for Russia, adding that any military units in Ukraine would be legitimate targets for Russian armed forces.

"Those who constantly devise new military adventures against Russia while unsuccessfully attempting to inflict a 'strategic defeat' on our country should understand that they will bear full responsibility for this escalation," Zakharova stressed.

According to her, Europeans have no place at the negotiating table on the issue of Ukraine.

"The West is not prepared to seriously take Russia's legitimate security concerns into account and continues to fuel escalation," Zakharova warned.

She said that France and the United Kingdom were seeking to establish a foothold for confronting Russia by deploying "multinational forces" in Ukraine.

According to her, plans to inflict a "strategic defeat" on Russia are doomed to fail, and all the goals and objectives set as part of the special military operation will be achieved.

"These plans are doomed to fail. All the objectives set by the Russian leadership for the special military operation will be fulfilled," Zakharova concluded.
