BRATISLAVA, NOVEMBER 7 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ - The new European loan will only prolong the conflict in Ukraine and will not help resolve it, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said.
"A new loan worth 70 billion euros for Ukraine is now on the table. I will take this opportunity to reiterate that Slovakia will not take part in it, because it would only further prolong this military conflict, which has no military solution," Fico said on Slovak television channel TA3.
Fico expressed regret that the EU has no plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, but only a military plan.
Following a meeting of European leaders in Brussels in mid-October, Fico said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had asked the EU for an additional 70 billion euros to cover military spending in 2027.
