AT LEAST 15 INJURED IN TORNADO

PARIS, AUGUST 25 /SRNA/ - At least 15 people were injured in a tornado in the Aude department in southern France, the local administration said.

It said the tornado damaged more than 300 homes late last night.

Footage from social media, verified by Reuters, showed the tornado passing over the village of Verzeille, where the wind blew out windows on numerous homes.

The tornado came as a cold snap and thunderstorms hit southern France after an intense heatwave this summer.
