FIRES RAGING IN TULI, TURMENTI AND AROUND STRAČ HILL

TREBINJE, AUGUST 25 /SRNA/ - A helicopter operated by the Republika Srpska Aviation Administration and firefighters are battling fires in the villages of Tuli and Turmenti and around Strač Hill in Trebinje, which currently pose no threat to people’s property or populated areas, Trebinje firefighters’ commander Dejan Kašiković told SRNA.

Kašiković said the fire is approaching the Šaraba family's houses in the village of Turmenti, but that the situation is not critical jew.

He said firefighters had a difficult night and managed to keep the fire away from houses in the villages, as well as contain the fire line around Strač Hill that was moving towards the city.

"Fifteen firefighters with four fire engines were on the ground tonight," Kašiković said.

Fires in the area around Trebinje have been active for several days.
