GRADIŠKA, AUGUST 8 /SRNA/ –Republika Srpska National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić stated today that the closed UN Security Council's session on BiH is a step toward the self-sustainability of Republika Srpska.
Stevandić noted that such a session would not have been possible in the past, but that in the last two years, since Republika Srpska has been placed on the global political and diplomatic map, it has become a central topic in the ongoing struggle for autonomy and survival.
He emphasized that now the whole world knows what Republika Srpska is, and that efforts to remove its president stem from the fact that he is seen as responsible for it.
"The UN Security Council session is another step forward in informing everyone about what is happening, but it's also a step forward in our self-sustainability, and each future session will be even more valuable," Stevandić told the press in Gradiška.
Stevandić believes that Srpska will not back down, even though some believe that history is written with seals stolen without the consent of those who grant them.
"History is written, and has always been written, by the will of the people. Let others turn to embassies and foreign representatives; we will turn to the people, because they write history. History does not build monuments to cowards and opportunists, history remembers victims and heroes. We want to be on the path of heroes; we do not want to be victims," Stevandić explained.
