STEVANDIĆ: WOMEN’S ROLE IN SOCIETY DESERVES DAILY RECOGNITION

BANJA LUKA, MARCH 8 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić congratulated women on International Women's Day, March 8, stressing the need to speak about and work toward gender equality every day while highlighting women's strength and importance in the family and society.

"Dear women, thank you for the lionhearted strength with which you fight for your families, for the dedication you show at work, and for your love for the homeland," Stevandić said in his congratulatory message.

He stressed that it is a duty to show women respect and love not only today but every day, the Office of the Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska said in a statement.

"To fight together with you for equality. Happy March 8," Stevandić said.

International Women’s Day, March 8, is observed worldwide in remembrance of demonstrations by American female workers in Chicago in 1909 and a march of more than 15,000 women in New York who demanded shorter working hours, better pay, and the right to vote.
