BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 5 /SRNA/ - Thanks to the persistent, responsible, and steadfast patriotic policies of SNSD President Milorad Dodik, Republika Srpska is today widely recognized and respected, and better times for Srpska are definitely yet to come, said Radovan Kovačević, a Serb member of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
"It is of great importance for Republika Srpska to speak for itself about its views and positions whenever it has the opportunity and the ability, and to point out how poor the situation in BiH truly is, compared to earlier attempts where others spoke about us instead," Kovačević said.
Kovačević emphasized that Republika Srpska is now in an excellent position and pointed out how this is viewed by Sarajevo, where they had expected that they would soon be finished with Republika Srpska.
"Republika Srpska is now in a position they cannot even dream of, and it is now sitting at the table. Republika Srpska is the one negotiating, while they are merely the subject being discussed and negotiated about. When that is the case, it becomes completely clear how significant this is," said Kovačević, who is also the spokesperson for the SNSD.
He also pointed out that almost the entire state leadership of Republika Srpska was under US sanctions just a few months ago, whereas today, Republika Srpska is present in Washington at the highest level, with its top officials, holding a large number of meetings.
"This includes a meeting with the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, one of the closest associates of President Donald Trump, a key figure in trade policy and the implementation of tariffs. What President Trump initiates in this area is carried out and implemented by this official, who met with Željka Cvijanović," Kovačević said.
Kovačević also pointed out that SNSD leader Milorad Dodik met with retired General Michael Flynn.
He reminded that Flynn served as President Trump's National Security Advisor during his previous term and that he is one of the most influential figures and one of the most prominent generals in US history.
"When you see the large number of congressmen and senators with whom the representatives of Republika Srpska met, it becomes completely clear what position Republika Srpska holds today," Kovačević said.
He added that, when this is combined with the fact that representatives of Republika Srpska had only days earlier met with the highest state leadership of Israel, Hungary, and Serbia, it clearly shows the current international standing of Republika Srpska.
