SENATE PASSES BILL IMPOSING NEW SANCTIONS ON MOSCOW

WASHINGTON, AUGUST 7 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ – The United States Senate today passed a bill imposing new sanctions on Russia and secondary tariffs following the final vote, and the bill will now be sent to the House of Representatives.


A total of 86 senators voted in favour of the bill, while 11 voted against it. The initiative was launched and promoted by the late Senator Lindsey Graham.

The Senate passed the bill at its final session before the summer recess. The bill will now be forwarded to the House of Representatives, which will return from its summer recess in September.
