BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 2 /SRNA/ - Milorad Dodik has succeeded in gaining respect for Republika Srpska at numerous important global venues, said Radovan Kovačević, a Serb member of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
“People from the SDS and the opposition have a problem with RTRS and other media reporting on Milorad Dodik’s activities and his receptions together with Ana Trišić Babić in other countries at the highest possible level. It is obvious that it bothers them when someone gives respect to Republika Srpska,” Kovačević told RTRS.
He added that the opposition wants to portray everything in Srpska as negative, as if it were a “black hole,” the worst place in the world, where nothing good exists.
“Thank you for reporting realistically and showing the situation in Republika Srpska accurately,” said Kovačević, who is also the SNSD spokesperson.
He also said that not everything is perfect, but that there are many good things in Republika Srpska, and that it is very positive that Dodik has succeeded in gaining respect for Srpska at numerous highly important global venues.
“I don’t understand who would think it shouldn't be reported that representatives of Republika Srpska were received by a country like Israel, which is definitely a global power, at the highest possible intergovernmental level, with only the state flags of Republika Srpska and Israel displayed,” Kovačević said.
He reminded that representatives of Srpska were received by the President of Israel, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the Knesset, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, which he considers a success for Republika Srpska.
Kovačević emphasized that, despite the opposition’s attempts to create a dark and depressing image of Republika Srpska, they did not succeed.
“We discussed the economy of Srpska with the highest officials of Israel. When we talked about the level of public debt in Srpska, they expressed serious respect for this kind of data and the results,” Kovačević said.
He added that it is far more important for the citizens that they have discussed serious and concrete projects that will certainly improve the quality of life in Republika Srpska, and that they also have friends there who are ready to help Srpska.
Kovačević emphasized that a diplomatic offensive by Republika Srpska is underway, and reminded that Dodik, within one week, met with the highest state leadership of Israel, was then received at the highest intergovernmental level in Hungary by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, and is today in Serbia with President Aleksandar Vučić.
He said that Dodik will then travel to Washington to attend the Prayer Breakfast, which clearly shows that the perception of Republika Srpska is changing, and that this is certainly thanks to Dodik.
Kovačević also addressed the opposition’s accusations regarding the alleged electoral engineering by the SNSD.
“That cannot hide the facts, which are that people from the opposition have their own representatives in the CEC of BiH who are servants of Sarajevo, and as such, they try to portray Srpska as a ‘black place.’ It suits Sarajevo that Srpska is a hotspot of crisis, rather than acknowledging that we have made it the most stable point in the region for decades,” Kovačević said.
He said that those in the opposition are accomplices to Sarajevo’s narrative that Srpska is a place of crisis.
“We will overcome that as well, and we will defeat them together, both their chief, Christian Schmidt, and Sarajevo, as well as their minions in Republika Srpska,” Kovačević emphasized.
Kovačević assessed that from day one, they have wanted to target Srpska as a place where there is no democracy, where everything is dirty and suspicious, and that this means the opposition is already in campaign mode.
“We see that they regularly hold press conferences, and that after the first session of the party led by Branko Blanuša, they even considered not participating in the elections,” Kovačević said.
According to him, they are ready for anything, even to remove Siniša Karan from the electoral ballot, because that is the only way they can win.
“We want the will of the people; they want the will of Sarajevo, and that is why they behave in this way,” Kovačević said.
He added that they can only win if the SNSD does not participate in the elections, and that is what they were hoping for. When that did not happen, they are now trying by other means.
“They are looking for any reason to remove our candidate from the ballot and disqualify him so that they would be the winners in a game in which they would participate alone. But we will not allow that, the people of Republika Srpska will not allow it,” Kovačević emphasized.
He noted that the will of the people of Republika Srpska is clear and certain, that the people stand with Srpska, not with Sarajevo, like the opposition.
“That is why the people will once again elect Siniša Karan,” Kovačević stated categorically.
He stated that the people will choose the politics of Milorad Dodik, whom they elected in the 2022 elections, while Sarajevo and Schmidt, with the help of the opposition, have done everything to overturn the will of the people of Republika Srpska.
“But the will of the people is stronger than anything, even stronger than all the minions working against its interests. Republika Srpska will prevail,” Kovačević concluded.
The head of the SDS Caucus in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Ognjen Bodiroga, called on voters in local communities of Srpska, where a repeated presidential election will be held, to go to the polls on Sunday, February 8, and vote for the party’s candidate, Branko Blanuša
