BANJA LUKA, MAY 12 /SRNA/ - SNSD President Milorad Dodik has said that if all procedures are violated again in the appointment of the high representative, whoever is chosen will not be recognized by Republika Srpska.
Dodik said the high representative must be appointed on the basis of agreement and compromise among the signatories of the Dayton Peace Accords and confirmed by the UN Security Council.
"Whoever is appointed in that manner and acts in accordance with the mandate will have the cooperation of Republika Srpska institutions," Dodik wrote on the social network X.
He pointed out that the PIC /Peace Implementation Council/ is an informal group, a category that does not exist in the Dayton Agreement and has no authority.
"If all procedures are violated again, whoever comes will not be recognized by Republika Srpska. Our goal is peace, stability and respect for the Constitution. If someone's goal is to continue creating chaos in BiH, they can do so, but without us," Dodik emphasized.
He noted that there has been speculation in public about who could replace Christian Schmidt, adding that the name itself is irrelevant, while the mandate and the appointment and confirmation procedures are what matter.
"One illegality cannot be corrected by another. Anti-Dayton behavior cannot be corrected with the same kind of conduct, only with a different protagonist," Dodik stated.
