BANJA LUKA, APRIL 9 /SRNA/ – The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović told SRNA that investment in infrastructure projects, such as the bridge in the Banja Luka settlement of Česma, is of immense importance for local residents, the city, and Republika Srpska, emphasizing that the project demonstrates Srpska's ability to tackle major challenges and resolve them to the benefit and satisfaction of its citizens.

"This is a demanding construction project that will, of course, serve its purpose. The Government of Srpska, responding to the call of President Milorad Dodik and acting on the requests of our people, moved to accelerate the completion of this project", Cvijanović stressed after the bridge was opened.

She added that the project had been facing serious delays, and that part of the work had been expected to be completed by the Banja Luka City Administration, as previously agreed.

"Today, we can say that the bridge has been handed over to citizens for use, which will be of great benefit. But this is also proof of our ability to take on major challenges", Cvijanović emphasized.

Officials of Republika Srpska today opened to traffic the newly built bridge over the Vrbas River in the Česma neighborhood of Banja Luka. The total value of the investment amounts to BAM 8.5 million.

Under earlier decisions of the Republika Srpska Government, the public company "Roads of Srpska" assumed responsibility for completing the bridge in Česma, as well as the access roads, although the original agreement stipulated that the City of Banja Luka would construct the access routes.

The value of the works on the bridge itself is just under BAM 7 million, while the access roads cost around BAM 1.5 million. The entire project was fully financed by "Roads of Srpska" and the Government of Srpska.
