SUN: CHINA REAFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR SERBIA'S TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY

NEW YORK, October 20 /SRNA/ – China's position on Kosovo and Metohija remains clear and unchanged, Chinese Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Sun Lei told the UN Security Council, stressing that China supports finding a solution through sincere dialogue in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and with full respect for Serbia's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

The Chinese representative stressed that the situation in northern Kosovo remained fragile, with frequent violent incidents and arrests of members of the Serbian community.

"Private property has been destroyed, while legitimate rights and interests have been violated, raising concerns," the representative noted.

Speaking about UNMIK, Sun noted that the mission had played an invaluable role in Kosovo and Metohija.
