SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 29 /SRNA/ – Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Nikola Špirić says it is unbelievable that 30 years after the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, the SDA leaders are most concerned about the future status of the OHR, so they have addressed the UN Security Council.

"It is a discouraging fact that three decades after the war, the largest Bosniak party is more concerned with the Office of the High Representative and the person holding that position than with BiH itself and its future functioning," Špirić told SRNA.

He has assessed that it is obvious all Bosniak political visions and activities still rely on the OHR's support, rather than on agreements with political partners and the peoples they live with in BiH.

According to him, the sovereignty of BiH implies sovereign decision-making, but it seems that the SDA is more in favour of maintaining a colonial status for BiH.

Špirić pointed out that former Bosniak members of the BiH Presidency, Bakir Izetbegović and Šefik Džaferović, through their letter to the UN expressing concern for the OHR's status, have shown that official Sarajevo has no interest in any form of internal agreement or taking responsibility for the country's future.

"The lack of ideas and will in official Sarajevo to ensure that decisions about BiH are made within BiH is discouraging. Unlike the Republika Srpska Government's report, which highlights the problems BiH has been facing as a result of the OHR’s actions, SDA leaders are pleading for the continuation of such activities, which can only deepen the crisis in BiH," Špirić emphasized.

Izetbegović and Džaferović /SDA/ sent a letter yesterday to the UN Security Council member states ahead of the upcoming discussion on the situation in BiH, expressing concern over frequent announcements that the debate might include the question of the OHR’s future and its authorities.

The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović described this letter as a continuation of official Sarajevo's fight for Christian Schmidt.
