BIJELJINA, MAY 22 /SRNA/ - Bojan Savić, the chair of the SNSD Bijeljina City Board, says the EU Delegation must have been aware that their statements with which they are attempting to directly interfere in the internal affairs of Republika Srpska and BiH, are dangerous and unacceptable, openly siding with Bosniaks /Muslims/.
Reacting to the EU Delegation's statement that they will hold talks with all politicians in BiH, including SNSD, but not with the party's leader and President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, Savić has emphasized that Dodik is the legitimately elected president under all valid BiH laws, including those imposed by the controversial Christian Schmidt, whom many in Republika Srpska consider illegitimate, which cannot be ignored.
"In democratic societies, dialogue and communication are essential to resolving any issue. By sending such inappropriate messages, the EU Delegation is revealing its stance toward Serbs, Republika Srpska, even BiH. In addition to that shameful message, the EU Delegation is also signaling an awkward attempt to evade its share of responsibility for supporting an illegitimate foreigner and endorsing his imposition of laws and decisions that have derailed BiH’s European path and plunged the country into its deepest constitutional and political crisis since the Dayton Peace Agreement," Savić stated.
He stated that the narrative coming from the EU Delegation is fully unacceptable and malicious, as it attempts to impose the idea that a credible interlocutor for Europe on matters concerning Republika Srpska, the Federation, BiH, and the country's European path is an illegitimate foreigner who imposes laws rather than the elected local institutional representatives.
Savić has pointed out that the EU Delegation is well aware that the SNSD and Milorad Dodik have contributed the most to BiH's EU path, having initiated the majority of reform laws.
"We have made many difficult decisions, only for the Europeans to insult our common sense by calling on us to respect Schmidt who is the main reason we cannot move forward on the EU path," said Savić.
He has emphasized that the only message Republika Srpska expects to hear from the EU is a clear statement that in a sovereign and independent country, no one has the right to impose laws and try under them, but that the laws must be adopted in accordance with democratic procedures within legitimate institutions.
"We expect them to compel Schmidt to undo the mess he has created, and to clearly state in Strasbourg that this foreigner, who is illegally residing in BiH while receiving a huge salary for the wrongdoing and recklessness he commits, has undermined the rule of law and democracy in BiH through legal violence. This entire circus began due to the EU's weakness in resisting the reckless policies of the Biden administration. Instead of European values and democracy, all we see are impositions, pressure, sanctions, and threats... That kind of Europe is not what we want," said Savić.
He reminded that President Dodik has consistently called for dialogue and sought solutions. Therefore, it would be more appropriate for the EU to show a minimum level of reason and help BiH out of its worst crisis since the Dayton, rather than adding fuel to the fire and encouraging Bosniak political representatives in their persecution of Republika Srpska officials through Schmidt.
"The only way they can begin to fix this is by demanding that the illegal foreigner in BiH return to where he came from," Savić concluded.
