KOŠARAC: KONAKOVIĆ'S PERFIDIOUS ATTEMPT TO REHABILITATE FAILED POLICIES

SARAJEVO, JULY 30 /SRNA/ - The "international" conference "The Position of Constituent Peoples and Others in the Institutions of BiH," announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers, Elmedin Konaković, is not an international event at all, but an expanded "Circle 99" and an attempt to rehabilitate all of his failed policies, the Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac told SRNA.

"This is a perfidious attempt to draw attention to Konaković's imaginary importance, who is in reality completely insignificant on the political scene in BiH. This is his political pamphlet for the purpose of the pre-election campaign," said Košarac.

Commenting on the announced conference, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Košarac pointed out the fact that Konaković wants to mobilize a part of the Bosniak structure in order to give themselves false legitimacy to problematize the issues of equality and the constituent status of peoples in BiH.

"Their intention is to show how Bosniaks are allegedly threatened and how they, as a conditionally speaking majority people, should make decisions on behalf of others," Košarac believes.

Reminding that the Dayton Agreement clearly defined that BiH is composed of two entities and three constituent peoples, Košarac asked whether the intention of Konaković and his team is to abandon the Dayton concept and return to the pre-Dayton period and the constitution of the so-called RBiH.

"Their anti-Dayton actions will not pass. We are not naive. At the same time, they completely ignore the well-known fact that the other two constituent peoples, Serbs and Croats, are completely dissatisfied with the situation in BiH," emphasized Košarac.

He assessed that their intention to hold this pre-election gathering in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH represents a classic abuse of institutions and official position.

"Who is he, and with what right and capacity is he inviting political parties to participate in his pre-election mishmash?" Košarac asked.

To make the irony greater, he added, Konaković is neither sovereign nor original in this either—he actually stole the thesis on proportional representation from his former leader, Bakir Izetbegović.

"We will not participate in the political score-settling of Konaković and Izetbegović, nor in this perfidious pre-election spectacle. Our message is clear – there is no reshaping of the Dayton concept of BiH. If they really want that, Srpska will step out of the framework of Dayton BiH," stated Košarac.
