SARAJEVO, NOVEMBER 25 /SRNA/ - Deputy Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers Aleksandar Goganović stated that during a meeting with U.S. congressmen Mike Turner and Donald Norcross in Sarajevo, he emphasized that the United States remains a key partner of the Ministry of Defense, but also a particularly important partner of the Serb people.
Goganović told SRNA after the meeting that long-term stability in BiH requires consistent respect for the Dayton Agreement, according to which decisions are made in accordance with the agreement of the two entities and the three constituent peoples.
He noted that it is often forgotten that the Dayton Agreement was concluded in the United States, which is a major success of American foreign policy, and that Republika Srpska received its international verification through that agreement as an entity within BiH.
"The United States remains a key partner of the Ministry of Defense, but also a particularly important partner of the Serb people. I am convinced that open dialogue and mutual respect contribute to peace and stability in BiH and the entire region," Goganović emphasized.
He stated that the meeting was an opportunity to exchange views and further strengthen cooperation with the United States.
The chargé d’affaires of the U.S. Embassy, John Ginkel, and the Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, Zukan Helez, attended the meeting at the Ministry of Defense headquarters.
