BANJA LUKA, MAY 26 /SRNA/ - The Speaker of the Republika Srpska National Assembly Nenad Stevandić told SRNA today that the Serb member and Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović successfully promoted the positions of Republika Srpska in her address in Dayton, which are fundamentally in line with the future and peace.
"This is also in line with the new American policy, and with the stance of many countries in Europe, Asia, and the BRICS group. The prevailing principle at the UN is also to preserve peace and not to change agreements to anyone's detriment, especially not to the detriment of the constituents and the signatories," Stevandić said.
He said that the Dayton Agreement established peace and that a second phase has arrived, the phase of development, but that another scenario is at play, where the Dayton amendments are misinterpreted.
Stevandić emphasized that those who have altered Dayton have produced crises, undermined the hard-won peace, and brought BiH into a position of new conflicts, which neither the Serbs nor Republika Srpska have done.
"So we can say that Cvijanović presented realpolitik, stating that the Bosniak demands are completely unrealistic and that they support people like /Christian/ Schmidt, who are changing the Dayton Agreement, undermining the constitutional structure, equality of the peoples and entities, and pushing BiH back into a phase of instability and potential conflicts," Stevandić said.
