ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, AUGUST 27 /SRNA/ - Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović said she received the news of General Ratko Mladić’s death with sincere sadness, stressing that it is difficult to escape the impression that his death was, among other things, the result of the extremely inhumane treatment of a seriously ill man who was not allowed to receive appropriate medical treatment in Serbia.
Cvijanović told SRNA that General Mladić would be remembered by the Serb people as the commander who, during the most difficult period, took charge of the glorious Republika Srpska Army, which defended the people and the borders of our Republic.
“His soldiers will forever remember their commander, with whom they fought for and secured the freedom and survival in these lands,” Cvijanović stressed following General Mladić’s death.
“I extend my sincere and deepest condolences to General Mladić’s family, friends and comrades-in-arms,” Cvijanović said.
