KYIV, OCTOBER 21 /SRNA/ - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed Ukraine’s readiness to accept a peace deal that would entail the loss of territory under the control of Russian forces.
"Right now, we have to freeze the conflict, and I think this is a realistic way to end this war," Zelenskyy said in an interview with Fox News.
He said that, if the conflict were frozen, Kyiv would still retain about 75 per cent or more of Ukraine's territory.
According to him, remaining in the current positions would be the most realistic minimum step towards halting further killings.
Zelenskyy stressed that reaching an agreement would have to be accompanied by strong and binding security guarantees from US President Donald Trump and European allies to prevent further conflicts in the future.
