MOSCOW, OCTOBER 24 /SRNA/ - Moscow will respond firmly to the designation of a member of the Russian Embassy staff in Chișinău as persona non grata, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned.
"These hostile actions by the Moldovan leadership will not go unanswered," Zakharova said in a statement published on the Ministry's website.
According to her, the Moldovan authorities’ decision to declare a Russian Embassy diplomat in the country persona non grata is part of Chișinău’s course toward destroying relations between the two countries.
"This decision by the Moldovan authorities is part of the official Chișinău’s destructive anti-Russian course, aimed at completely dismantling centuries-old Russian-Moldovan relations and severing ties between the peoples of the two countries," Zakharova said.
Moldova’s Foreign Ministry announced yesterday that it would declare a member of the Russian Embassy staff persona non grata following the crash of a drone on Moldovan territory.
