MANILA, JULY 14 /SRNA/ - The number of victims of Typhoon "Bavi" and monsoon "Habagat" in the Philippines has risen to 23, while another 18 people are listed as missing, the media company GMA reported, citing the National Disaster Risk Reduction Council.
The Council states that information on victims and damage is still being verified.
The extreme weather conditions affected 782,874 people, while more than 24,000 were displaced. The number of damaged houses exceeded 1,000.
Typhoon "Bavi" approached the Philippine archipelago on July 6, bringing strong winds and heavy rains that destroyed roads and triggered deadly landslides in several provinces on the island of Mindanao.
