NEW YORK, OCTOBER 25 /SRNA/ - U.S. President Donald Trump said he was facing a choice between reaching a deal and destroying Iran.
"I have to make a decision. Do I destroy it, which would be very easy, or do I make a deal?" he told Fox News.
He once again said that oil prices would fall as soon as the conflict with Iran ended.
Trump said yesterday that he was considering resuming U.S. strikes on Iran if no agreement is reached.
The United States and Israel launched the war against Iran on February 28.
In June, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding providing for a ceasefire on all fronts, including Lebanon. However, the United States resumed large-scale attacks on Iran on July 8, accusing it of violating existing agreements concerning the Strait of Hormuz, a major shipping route for oil and gas.
Later, the U.S. administration signaled that it was halting the use of military force against Iran and would instead pursue a policy of economically strangling the country through tougher sanctions.
