THREE WORKERS INJURED IN FACTORY BLAST

MADRID, OCTOBER 30 /SRNA/ - A powerful explosion rocked an ammunition factory in Granada in southern Spain this morning, and three workers suffered minor injuries, authorities said.

According to preliminary information, the explosion occurred in a part of the factory that workers call the "burning pit".

Sources from the UGT trade union say the explosion may have happened during routine tests carried out at the plant.

The area had been cordoned off before the tests and there were no workers nearby, so despite the force of the blast, no one was seriously injured.

Spanish news portal "Okdiario" reported that the explosion occurred at around 9 a.m.
