TANKER HIT IN THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ

TEHRAN, SEPTEMBER 18 /SRNA/ - The Iranian military fired on a tanker that attempted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, state media reported, citing Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

According to the reports, the tanker Trend, sailing under the flag of Togo, was hit for making an "illegal attempt" to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy warned that any unauthorized passage through the strait would result in the vessel being destroyed, the Associated Press reported.

Tehran took control of the waterway on February 28, when the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran.
