SIX VOLCANOS ERUPTED SIMULTANEOUSLY

JAKARTA, SEPTEMBER /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - Six volcanoes erupted simultaneously in various parts of Indonesia, according to data from the country's Interior Ministry, Transportation Ministry and Indonesian Center for Volcanology and Geohazard Mitigation seen by RIA Novosti.

Activity at all six volcanoes has been observed almost simultaneously since August 31, the Interior Ministry said.

The Indonesian Center for Volcanology and Geohazard Mitigation said that the volcanoes erupted independently, as each volcano has its own magma system.

The volcanos that erupted are namely Anak Krakatau, Semeru, Mount Ibu, Lewotobi Laki-laki, Lewotolok and Sinabung, RIA Novosti reports.
