POPE LEO’S SURGERY GOES WELLROME, OCTOBER 13 /SRNA – Reuters/ – The operation to remove a small growth from Pope Leo XIV’s lung went well, as expected, the Vatican announced.

The 71-year-old Pope Leo was admitted to Rome’s Gemelli Hospital earlier today to have a small nodule removed, which he said had been detected during a recent medical examination.

The Vatican had previously announced that the Pope’s recovery was expected to take approximately seven days.
