WASHINGTON, OCTOBER 28 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - Washington has ordered the First Secretary of Cuba's Permanent Mission to the UN, Ricardo Tur de la Concepción, to leave the United States within 24 hours following a heated exchange during a UN Security Council session, US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz said.
He told Fox News that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had signed the documents expelling Concepción for attempting to attack one of the American diplomats.
"He's leaving. He'll be on a plane to Havana within the next 24 hours," Waltz said.
During yesterday's UN Security Council session, a heated exchange broke out between the Cuban and US delegations after Waltz sharply criticized the Cuban authorities. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez came up to the podium to protest, while Waltz shouted at him, demanding that he step away.
