BELGRADE, OCTOBER 28 /SRNA/ - The minor who was killed outside the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade after a terrorist attack on a Gendarmerie officer had been arrested in Munich in May on suspicion of plotting a terrorist attack on the Jewish community there, N1 Serbia reported.
German services questioned the minor thoroughly, and he described to them in detail how he had become interested online in content about Islamic fundamentalism and terrorist organizations such as al-Qaeda and Islamic State.
After making contact with an unidentified person in Germany, he began planning an attack on the Jewish community in Munich.
Following his arrest in Germany, the minor, who was born near Šabac, was deported to Serbia in July.
A minor, believed to be from Šabac, attacked a Gendarmerie officer guarding the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade with two knives, shouting "Allahu Akbar".
The officer killed the attacker in self-defense and sustained minor injuries. A red level terrorism threat alert has been declared.
Interior Minister Ivica Dačić said the Serbian service had been monitoring the individual and that he was known to be an Islamic State supporter.
"On his Instagram profile, he displayed a black flag and the Islamic State symbol," Dačić said.
