BERLIN, JULY 13 /SRNA/ - One in three people in Germany experiences health problems related to the heat, an increase compared to previous years, according to the results of the latest survey.

The most commonly reported problems include fatigue /71 percent/, sleep disturbances /68 percent/, circulatory problems /64 percent/, headaches /52 percent/, dizziness /32 percent/, loss of appetite /27 percent/, and confusion /seven percent/.

Twice as many women as men reported heat-related health problems, with 40 percent of women affected compared to 21 percent of men.

During the historic heatwave that swept across much of Europe in late June, many educational institutions across the country were closed to protect children.

The survey was conducted among a sample of 1,519 German citizens aged 18 and over between June 22 and July 1.
