DMITRIYEV: ICELAND VOTE SHOWS REJECTION OF MIGRANTS, EU BUREAUCRACY AND WAR RHETORIC

MOSCOW, AUGUST 30 /SRNA/ – Iceland rejected migrants, European bureaucrats and war-mongering rhetoric in a referendum on resuming negotiations on EU accession, Russian Presidential Special Representative for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries Kirill Dmitriyev said.

"Iceland knows very well how to play football and how to reject migrants, bureaucrats and the warmongering of the failed EU," Dmitriyev wrote on X.

A referendum on resuming negotiations on EU accession was held in Iceland yesterday.

According to Icelandic public broadcaster RUV, more than 52 per cent of voters opposed resuming negotiations on EU membership.
