MOSCOW, NOVEMBER 1 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ - Russian President's special envoy for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries Kirill Dmitriev said that rising energy prices in the European Union were fuelling unrest across Germany.
"As predicted, higher energy prices in the EU, resulting from the irresponsible decoupling from Russian gas, mean deindustrialization, unrest and looting. This cause-and-effect relationship is further fuelled by suicidal migration policies and the stubborn refusal of EU bureaucrats to correct their mistakes," Dmitriev wrote on X.
He was commenting on violent protests and looting that took place late last night in the German city of Frankfurt amid rising living costs.
Protests organized by youth organizations were held in 34 German cities yesterday, attracting hundreds of thousands of participants.
The demonstrators' main demands included education reform, measures to address the rising cost of living, and the abolition of compulsory military service in Germany.
