BRENT CRUDE PRICE GOES DOWN

NEW YORK, OCTOBER 12 /SRNA/ - Oil prices fell today after US President Donald Trump said Russia and Ukraine had entered an "energy ceasefire", the Financial Times reported.

In London, North Sea Brent crude was down 1.3 per cent at $103.34 a barrel.

Prices declined after Trump said yesterday that an "energy ceasefire" had been established in Ukraine.

"An energy ceasefire takes effect immediately in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Both sides have agreed. Don't break it!" Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

The Financial Times had earlier reported that the Trump administration threatened to halt a procurement system used to supply weapons to Ukraine in an effort to pressure Kyiv to stop attacks on Russian energy infrastructure.
