BEIJING, OCTOBER 12 /SRNA/ - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said China was ready to work with France to fully implement the consensus reached by the two countries' leaders, make further efforts to ensure stable and sustainable development of relations with the EU, and promote peace, stability and development in the world.

Wang held the 28th China-France Strategic Dialogue yesterday in Datong, in northern China's Shanxi province, with Emmanuel Bonne, diplomatic adviser to the French president.

The two officials reached broad consensus and gave a positive assessment of progress made under the China-France trade and investment consultation mechanism.

Wang said the China-France strategic dialogue had contributed to high-level diplomacy and strengthened mutual political trust.

He reiterated China's readiness to work with France to fully implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state and make further efforts to ensure the stable and sustainable development of China-France and China-EU relations, while promoting peace, stability and development globally.

Wang said China was ready to maintain high-level exchanges with France, continue expanding and strengthening cooperation in traditional areas such as aviation, the space industry and nuclear energy, and broaden cooperation into new areas including advanced manufacturing, green and low-carbon development and artificial intelligence.

He added that China hoped France would provide political support and a favorable environment for Chinese companies investing and doing business in the country.

"China and France should strengthen communication and coordination, jointly advance the implementation of the four global initiatives proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, and work together to build a fairer and more equitable system of global governance", Wang said.

He stressed that China hoped France would honor its commitment to the one-China policy and safeguard the political foundations of China-France relations.

Speaking about China-Europe relations, Wang said China and the EU were fully capable of properly resolving economic and trade differences through dialogue and putting bilateral relations back on a path of stable and healthy development.

He expressed hope that France would continue to play a constructive role in advancing mutually beneficial China-EU cooperation.

Bonne said France was ready to work with China on the continued development of a comprehensive strategic partnership based on mutual respect, friendship, mutual trust, resilience and vitality.

"France adheres to the one-China policy", he added.

Bonne said France looked forward to more intensive high-level exchanges, stronger people-to-people and cultural ties, and deeper mutually beneficial cooperation with China in various fields so that the results of cooperation could bring greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.

He said France would continue to provide a predictable business environment for Chinese companies.

Bonne spoke positively about China's global initiatives and said France was ready to strengthen multilateral coordination with China, China Media Group reported.

He said the EU did not want a trade war with China and was not seeking to "decouple" from it, but was ready to be a reliable partner.

Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, also discussed with Bonne ways to deepen China-France strategic cooperation.
