AT LEAST 20 PEOPLE INJURED AFTER TRAIN DERAILS

LUBLIN, SEPTEMBER 9 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - At least 20 people were injured when a passenger train derailed near the Polish city of Lublin, the State Fire Service of Poland said.

"In the village of Sokolniki Suche, a truck collided with an Intercity train traveling on the Szczecin-Lublin route," the statement said.

The statement noted that all the train’s carriages and the locomotive derailed.

"There were around 120 people on the train, 20 of whom were injured. Several emergency medical helicopters landed at the scene of the incident," the statement said.

The fire service said that the train driver and the truck driver sustained the most serious injuries.
