BANJA LUKA, JULY 24 /SRNA/ – Slobodan Župljanin, the head of the Organisation of Senior Officers of the Republika Srpska Army /RSA/, says the politicians from the Federation of BiH /FBiH/ focus on Republika Srpska because they see it as the easiest way to divert attention from the problems within their own entity and the institutions they head.
Among the politicians who compete in futile attacks on Republika Srpska and the Serb people, Župljanin singled out the Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović, as well as the ministers of defence and foreign affairs in the Council of Ministers, Zukan Helez and Elmedin Konaković.
Župljanin told SRNA that these politicians have been focused on Srpska for a long time, accelerating the collapse of BiH, including the only viable version of it - a Dayton-based, constitutional BiH.
He has emphasized that although they are doing everything to undermine Republika Srpska, it will not be enough to erase it or create a unitary BiH according to the wishes of Bosniak politicians.
"That is why these hawks, led by Helez, fire poisonous arrows at Republika Srpska and the Serb people on a daily basis - arrows that will return like boomerangs, only sharper and stronger," Župljanin warned.
Župljanin says this will not help erase the many failures and disgraceful actions attributed to Helez, such as the crash of the Armed Forces helicopter in Jablanica, drugs found in military barracks, weapons theft, illegal arms sales, the Islamization of the Armed Forces, undiplomatic behavior of its personnel, refusal to shake hands with female European officials, improper uniform practices, and discrimination against Serb and Croat members of the Armed Forces.
Župljanin added that this trio behaves as if they have not yet awakened from a deep winter sleep and fail to see that the world is changing faster than ever before.
"It's as if they don't even hear the diplomatic storm coming from Republika Srpska, which has radically transformed Srpska’s image in the world. Nothing is the same anymore," Župljanin pointed out.
He says Republika Srpska's diplomacy has achieved a historic success, resulting in a large part of the new global order, including the three greatest military, economic, and political powers, understanding the situation in BiH as it truly is, not as "political Sarajevo" tries to portray it.
"How important BiH measured by the Muslim standards from Sarajevo is now to the U.S. is evident in the fact that, to this day, the United States has not appointed an ambassador to BiH. There is a possibility that it won’t even do so, and that diplomatic duties will instead be handled by ambassadors in neighbouring countries like Serbia, Croatia, or Hungary," Župljanin said.
He added that those politicians mistakenly believe the OHR will help them and concluded that such hopes are futile.
"When they finally wake from their winter sleep, they will face a harsh reality that will lead them down a path of no return - away from the country BiH could have been if they had only understood that it consists of two entities and three constituent peoples. It might be not too late," Župljanin concluded.
