BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 8 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Minister of Spatial Planning, Construction and Ecology Bojan Vipotnik will lead the BiH delegation at the UN Climate Change Conference, the world's only multilateral forum for decision-making on climate change, which begins tomorrow in Antalya.
"The conference, which brings together almost every country in the world, is an opportunity to exchange experiences, as well as to negotiate with international funds that finance projects aimed at tackling climate change. That is why our participation in this event is of exceptional importance," Vipotnik told SRNA.
He stressed that cooperation among countries was crucial to addressing this greatest global challenge.
"This year, special attention will also be paid to the Climate Action Agenda, which provides a complementary track of action within the framework of the Conference, bringing together the business sector, cities, governments and civil society to identify and share solutions to climate challenges," Vipotnik explained.
He said the agenda covers issues such as the impact of climate change on health and food security, the electrification of all sectors, from buildings to cars, waste reduction and strengthening the resilience of cities to climate change.
The delegation led by Vipotnik will take part in the high-level segment for representatives of the states and governments of the signatory countries, which will be held from November 10 to 13.
Vipotnik said that the Republika Srpska Ministry of Spatial Planning, Construction and Ecology is the designated contact institution for the implementation of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in BiH.
